Overview
Zed Agent works in the editor’s Agent Panel and Threads Sidebar to read and search projects, edit files, use the terminal and call MCP tools, presenting changes for review. Model-provider settings control hosted, API or supported local access, while permissions, profiles, skills and instructions shape its work. It is distinct from external agents using ACP and terminal-backed CLI threads.
