LocalAI
Deploy multimodal inference in your own environment through compatible APIs and model backends.
Overview
LocalAI is a self-hosted inference engine exposing language, vision, speech and image capabilities through APIs. Install needed backends, use engines such as llama.cpp or vLLM, and configure models, authentication, quotas and agent tools. It serves models rather than being a separate model family. Endpoint and parameter compatibility depend on backend documentation; CPU support does not remove task-specific memory, speed or hardware constraints.
Usage guide & costs
- Before you start
Project code is MIT; weights, backends and dependencies have separate licenses. Initial model/backend preparation may need network and storage. Hardware or cloud resources have operating costs; external tools can transmit data despite self-hosting.
