## Overview

Shortcut brings an AI spreadsheet agent to desktop and CLI tools, an Excel add-in, a web app and a platform API. The add-in works with the open workbook, while desktop forms target local files, desktop Excel and connected tools. The web app does not require Excel, and the API serves cloud automation, letting users choose according to where their data lives.

The Excel add-in is limited to Microsoft add-in interfaces and cannot generally access the computer; deeper desktop Office capabilities require Windows and desktop Office.
